SEJARAH SEBAGAI PERISTIWA YANG YANG UNIK

    Sejarah adalah Ilmu yang mempelajari tentang peristiwa peristiwa yang telah terjadi di masa lalu, dengan tujuan untuk memahami dan mengerti proses perubahan dan perkembangan masyarakat, budaya dan peradaban manusia .

Tidak semua peristiwa yang telah terjadi pada masa lampau dapat dikatagorikan sebagai sejarah. Dikarenakan :

Peristiwa tersebut tidak memiliki catatan yang cukup untuk memastikan keakuratan informasi .

Peristiwa tersebut tidak memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap masyarakat budaya dan peradaban. 

Peristiwa tersebut hanya memiliki dampak pada individua atau keluarga bukan pada masyarakat luas.

      Dalam Sejarah, sebuah peristiwa dapat digolongkan sebagai peristiwa sejarah apabila bersifat unik dan mempunyai pengaruh besar dalam kehidupan Manusia.

 Peristiwa sejarah dipandang sebagai peristiwa yang unik karena terjadi satu kali dan tidak mungkin terulang kembali dalam bentuk yang sama. 

 Menurut JL Brandes Mengapa peristiwa sejarah bersifat unik, Karena Peristiwa sejarah adalah peristiwa yang unik dan terjadi hanya satu kali. 

     Setiap peristiwa sejarah akan berbeda dengan peristiwa sebelumnya. , Meskipun dalam suatu peristiwa bisa saja terulang kembali, tetapi pelaku, tempat, dan waktunya pasti berbeda.

Dalam ilmu sejarah dikenal istilah pengulangan sejarah, di mana suatu peristiwa sejarah bisa terjadi pada pola yang sama, tetapi dalam waktu yang berbeda. Namun, pelaku, lokasi kejadian, dan waktu berlangsungnya peristiwa sejarah akan selalu mengalami perbedaan, yang membuat peristiwa sejarah bersifat unik. 

 contoh peristiwa sejarah bersifat unik adalah:

 Aksi demonstrasi seluruh mahasiswa dari berbagai kampus di Indonesia yang menuntut mundur Presiden Soekarno (1966) dan Aksi Demontrasi mahasiswa dari berbagai kampus menuntut mundur Presiden Soeharto (1998). 

      Kedua persitiwa tersebut memiliki kesamaan, yakni demonstrasi Mahasiswa yang menuntut mundurnya Presiden Indonesia yang dianggap tidak bisa menangani permasalahan yang terjadi, seperti krisis politik dan terpuruknya ekonomi. Akan tetapi, waktu terjadinya peristiwa tersebut memiliki perbedaan, yakni tahun 1966 untuk menuntut lengsernya Presiden Soekarno dan pada tahun 1998 menuntut Presiden Soeharto mundur.

 Peristiwa tersebut memiliki unsur pengulangan dalam sejarah. Akan tetapi, tidak menghilangkan keunikannya. Contoh peristiwa tersebut membuktikan bahwa pengulangan sejarah hanya terjadi pada waktu dan tokoh yang berbeda. Dalam sejarah tidak akan terjadi pengulangan yang sama dengan peristiwa yang terjadi di masa lalu. Inilah sejarah sebagai Peristiwa yang bersipat Unik. 

History is a science that studies events that have occurred in the past, with the aim of understanding and comprehending the process of change and development of society, culture and human civilization.

Not all events that have occurred in the past can be categorized as history. Because:

The event does not have sufficient records to ensure the accuracy of the information.

The event does not have a significant impact on society, culture and civilization.

The event only has an impact on individuals or families, not on the wider community.

In history, an event can be classified as a historical event if it is unique and has a major influence on human life.

Historical events are seen as unique events because they occur once and cannot be repeated in the same form.

According to JL Brandes, why are historical events unique? Because historical events are unique events and only occur once.

Each historical event will be different from the previous event. , Although in an event it can be repeated, the perpetrators, place, and time must be different.

In history, there is a term known as historical repetition, where a historical event can occur in the same pattern, but at a different time. However, the perpetrators, location of the incident, and time of the historical event will always be different, which makes historical events unique. Examples of unique historical events are:

Demonstrations by all students from various campuses in Indonesia demanding the resignation of President Soekarno (1966) and Demonstrations by students from various campuses demanding the resignation of President Soeharto (1998).

Both events have similarities, namely student demonstrations demanding the resignation of the President of Indonesia who was considered unable to handle the problems that occurred, such as the political crisis and the economic downturn. However, the time of the incident was different, namely in 1966 to demand the resignation of President Soekarno and in 1998 to demand the resignation of President Soeharto.

These events have elements of repetition in history. However, it does not eliminate its uniqueness. Examples of these events prove that the repetition of history only occurs at different times and with different figures. In history there will be no repetition of the same events that occurred in the past. This is history as a Unique Event.
